2021 #weridecb Top 10 Moments

Before 2021 becomes a distant memory, we wanted to take a look back at some of the wild and wonderful moments from our #weridecb athletes. From World Championship titles to jaw-dropping videos and everything in-between, 2021 was full of many great moments. Check out our top 10 right here.

There's no other way to begin this countdown. Brage Vestavik put together one of the most insane X Games #RealMTB videos and in the process landed some of the most jaw-dropping features we've ever seen. 2021 was the first year X Games introduced #RealMTB and with that brought creativity and insanity from the worlds best. Brage's video was voted the Fan Favorite and took home the Silver Medal. If you haven't seen the video then CLICK HERE to watch it now!

Number 9 holds a special place for us as a brand. On their World Cup circuit debut, Camille Balanche took our Mallet Boa shoes to the top step of the Elite Women's podium in Leogang, Austria. We couldn't have wished for a better introduction to racing for our shoes than the incredible run Camille put down. And what's more - she wore a one-off rainbow-striped edition after her 2020 World Championship title. The shoes came as a surprise to Camille, so of course we had to video it. CLICK HERE to watch the unboxing of some very special shoes.

Number 8 in our countdown is a man that never ceases to amaze us. Danny MacAskill left us completely speechless after his bump front flip for his X Games #RealMTB segment! But more than that, Danny's video was a creative genius and left us wanting nothing more than to go out and ride our bikes. This is a must watch, so if you haven't seen it CLICK HERE to check out the full length video.

Benoit Coulanges not only had an incredible season but brought us another very special moment. He carried his exceptional season form into this year's World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy, and landed himself in second spot and taking our Mallet shoes to their first Elite Men's World Champs DH podium. If there's one man to watch next season, Benoit is it!

6

Number 6 features one of the most incredible Enduro World Series seasons to date. Locked in a tight battle with Richie Rude all season long, Jack Moir claimed 16 stage wins, and 5 race wins. This was enough to end his second full season of Enduro World Series racing in style, popping champagne on the top step of the podium and taking the Championship title. We're already excited to see what next season brings!

5

Vali Hoell's first full year of Elite racing was anything but a rookie year. Although she may have got off to a rocky start, Vali showed determination and spirit to clinch two pivotal, back-to-back victories at the Snowshoe, USA, World Cup's and subsequently became the 2021 Elite Women's UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup Champion.

4

Coming in at number 4 in our countdown, a World championships run to remember! Myriam Nicole claimed her second World Championship title in Val di Sole, Italy. As she made her way down the course, the timing board flashed green for every split and with that Myriam crossed the line with a time of 4:06.243, a huge 4.827 seconds ahead of the field.

This wouldn't be a top 10 countdown without Loic Bruni. With all the pressure in the world and just one run to seal his fate, Loic put down one of the most outstanding runs of his career in Snowshoe, USA. On the last day of the 2021 season, Loic hit every line, turn, and jump perfectly to take the win and with it the 2021 World Cup Overall title, the second of his career.

2

Coming in at number 2, is a performance of pure grit and determination. In just her second year of elite racing, Evie Richards put on a stunning display of power and skill for 1 hour, 23 minutes and 52 seconds to clinch her first Elite Women's World Championship XC title in Val di Sole, Italy. On top of her XC win, Evie also went home from Val di Sole with a Silver in the XCC and as the first British women to with an XC World Championships title.

There really was no other way to round out our top 10 moments from 2021. A whole 18 years after claiming his first title, Greg Minnaar claimed his fourth World Championship title on the arduous Val Di Sole course. Greg put down a phenomenal run, hitting every line with precision and crossing the line in the green showing the world he has no plans on slowing down just yet.

And with that we say goodbye to 2021 and hello to a fresh year. Bring on 2022!
