Finally - a hand pump that works !

"For years I've been putting up with frame pumps and mini-pumps that are just acceptable at best. Well, along comes the CB Sterling - and what do you know. . . it actually works well ! The switch between high volume and high pressure is genius. The built-in gauge agrees with both my shop gauge and my floor pump. I have used the Sterling pump both in the shop (testing) and on the road. Works better than any portable pump I've ever had."

Works great, not a massive

"Works great, not a massive fan of the water bottle cage mount but I just throw it in my pack anyway. I love that you can switch between high volume and high pressure modes. The high volume fills a tire pretty quick and the high pressure will get road bike tires to 75 psi in a pinch"

Not as good as the long one

"I have the longer version and tried this short one. Unfortunately it is not nearly as good as the long Sterling, which is excellent. Hopefully you'll start to re-produce it, so that I can purchase a new one if the current one fails."

Excellent MTB Pump!

"Excellent pump. Needed a new pump, bought this one because of the gauge. All small pumps take a while to inflate an empty tube, but this one does a great job! Love it! Recommend it!"

It’s a pump

"Like all mini pumps, they take a long time to pump up a tire."

It takes a lot of

"It takes a lot of energy to inflate a tire, to me. Seems well built."

"Perfect pump. Nice design, excellent materials, good grip, readable pressure gauge (I bought the midnight), does its job! Perhaps the protective cap would have been independent. I don't understand some of the negative reviews and low scores I've read on sites! With an old inner tube I made myself a container tube (closed on one side and bent on the other) and now the pump is even more protected when not in use. It’s cheap and pretty. Maybe you should think so too! Ciao 🇮🇹"

Couple years pertty good super cool pump, tough and well built.

"Have had this pump for a couple of years - mostly its great but recently a valve had frozen up inside. The pump shaft would move, but the inlet checkvalve systems inside had locked up and so you'd feel a sealed vacuum suction when you pulled the handle open and therefore coudln't create any pressure. I fully disassembled it and cleaned everything up and refreshed an O-ring or two and its back to working great, but its a shame CB doesn't have a repair and rebuild guide online. The pump is really very nicely made inside and indeed everything is pretty serviceable if you wanted/needed to replace o-rings and seals, but theres no parts or docs listed anywhere. Aside from this most recent problem, the only consistent issue I've had with it is taking on water when mounted on a mountain bike. I take care to be sure the head-plug is always in place and I even rubber band that down to keep it from being knocked out during rides, but I do think it either needs better sealing, or, it needs a drain hole on the bottom to allow any captured moisture to drain back out again. The other thing i did was to slightly overbore the outlet checkvalve that lies right behind the gauge head. This dramatically decreased the pumping effort and CB should explore re-engineering that part. If you disassemble the head (don't lose the spring or check ball!!) you can drill out the little tiny bottom port a bit - I went from a #31 (stock size) to a #25 drill and it works genius."

Very light and like the gauge

"Replaced an older CB pump with this one since it has a gauge on it. We went on a long self-contained bike tour and wanted to be able to verify tire pressures while on the trip. Had to use it once on the trip and it worked great."
