The Crankbrothers Mallet Trail BOA® clip-in shoe is the perfect blend of performance and adventure. Built for the trail or your next enduro race, the Mallet Trail BOA® will provide you all-day comfort paired with ultimate racing performance.

A lightweight yet durable rip-stop upper features a TPU-reinforced toebox for enhanced protection and a flexible collar around the ankle to prevent debris from entering the shoe. In addition, a fiber-reinforced shank and an aggressive outsole lug pattern bring pedaling efficiency and all-terrain versatility to every ride.

Our innovative Match System optimizes engagement for any MTB clip-in system, whether that’s Crankbrothers or SPD. It comes with Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position, so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box.

A BOA® Fit System Li2 dual-direction micro-adjustment dial for a precise fit, coupled with a quick-adjust hook-and loop strap for heel retention and stability. In addition, a rip-stop upper material provides durability without a weight penalty, and a TPU-reinforced toebox provides enhanced protection.

Elastic Collar

A lightweight & breathable elastic collar prevents trail debris from entering the shoe.

Match Box

Ramped cleat box offers easy pedal entry and mud shedding. The extended 35mm cleat track allows rearward positioning for added control and stability when descending. And, the cleat box depth is carefully chosen to allow for optimal shoe-to-pedal contact, right out of the box.

Match Compound

Mid-friction MC1 rubber compound for easy pedal entry and exit, plus long life.

Match Outsole

The new Trail tread pattern is designed for balanced traction on and off the bike, great walkability, and an optimized pedal interface. A stiff fiber-reinforced nylon shank transfers power efficiently, and a low-rebound EVA midsole damps vibration.

Great fit. I needed more

"Great fit. I needed more toe room than the Japanese and Italian shoes provide. Love these shoes Good riding single track and flats Also pretty good for miserable hike a bike pushes Very secure. Only gripe was the tongue on the left shoe kept slipping off to the side, exposing the velcro strap and rubbing a painful hole in my foot I fixed it by sewing the tongue in the desired position so it wont move Problem solved Happy riding"

Great shoe for XC riders

"I've put over 20 hours on the Mallet Trail shoes since I got them and they've worked really well. I started out a little hesitant that they'd be loose fitting in the heel, but the trick is to tighten the boa really tight first, then pull the velcro strap over to really lock your foot in. I have a pretty wide toe box and these are comfortable for up to about 2 hours, then they start to feel a little tight. I feel like a little more breaking in will eliminate that issue though. I've had to do some hike-a-bike in these and the tread still looks good. I've also had to ride through some mud and, while the shoes got dirty, my feet stayed dry and clean."

Solid but had issues clipping in

"The fit and comfort are great but I had a problem with the right shoe not giving me a solid, positive, click sound when clipping into mallet Enduro ls pedals. Its almost like the rubber sole is a bit too thick but oddly enough I did not have that problem with the left shoe. Lowering the pedal pins helped a little bit still mot great. After a handful of rides they have broken in enough and they now give a good positive click when clipped in. Never had this issue with the mallet Enduro shoes."
