Mallet Trail Speed Lace Clip-In Shoes - Green/Gum

The Crankbrothers Mallet Trail Speed Lace clip-in shoe is the perfect blend of performance and adventure. Engineered for thrill-seekers, the trail shoes were designed with rugged durability and adventure in mind to keep you confident on and off the trail and comfortable in the saddle for longer rides.

A synthetic upper features a single pull-lace closure system complete with lace pocket, perforations to provide airflow and breathability, and a TPU-reinforced toebox for enhanced protection. In addition, a fiber-reinforced shank and an aggressive outsole lug pattern bring pedaling efficiency and all-terrain versatility to every ride.

Our innovative Match System optimizes engagement for any MTB clip-in system, whether that’s Crankbrothers or SPD. It comes with Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position, so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box.

Our premium synthetic upper is constructed from durable, water-resistant materials, and is also perforated for enhanced breathability and ventilation. In addition, a speed lace closure system complete with lace pocket keeps your foot comfortably secure.

Match Box

Ramped cleat box offers easy pedal entry and mud shedding. The extended 35mm cleat track allows rearward positioning for added control and stability when descending. And, the cleat box depth is carefully chosen to allow for optimal shoe-to-pedal contact, right out of the box.

Match Compound

Mid-friction MC1 rubber compound for easy pedal entry and exit, plus long life.

Match Outsole

The new Trail tread pattern is designed for balanced traction on and off the bike, great walkability, and an optimized pedal interface. A stiff fiber-reinforced nylon shank transfers power efficiently, and a low-rebound EVA midsole damps vibration.

Toe Protection

A TPU-reinforced toe box combined with an outsole that wraps the front of the shoe provide critical protection against impacts.

"Great shoe but getting the right size sucks. I'm a regular (not wide) size 11 in everything from tennis shoes to cowboy boots. My foot would not fit in an 11 or 11. 5. I ordered a 12 and 12. 5, the 12 ended up working. Frankly they should just say they run small, But great shoe matched to the mallet 11's on my new Yeti ASR"

For very narrow foot only. . .

"Incredibely narrow, unfortunately. . . I daily wear 43, I can't put my foot into 43 (!!), the opening is really small. I ordered 44 as well, but it was way too narrow for me, as well. It s a shame because it looks great, quality product, and solid."

Stylish, Stiff and Comfortable Only

"Stylish, Stiff and Comfortable Only 2 rides in, but here are my initial impressions. I have fairly narrow feet and these fit great. The speed lace system seems nice, but we’ll see how it holds up. Pretty good power transfer, and the stiffness helps keep from feeling the trail when it gets really rough. Definitely a fan of the color, and they really are quite comfortable. Hike a bike in them feels natural and the grip seems pretty good. Not sure how they’ll be in the heat, the outer holes don’t seem to go through the inner padding. Clipping in and out easy natural and easy. We’ll see about durability, I had to put a foot down going pretty fast and a small part of the front took damage. On a good note, I didn’t feel the trail when my foot slammed the ground. The side of the tongue can also be felt on top of the foot sometimes, was initially bugged by it, but don’t notice it much now. Overall happy with these shoes so far and the shipping was fast."
